A month ago, my client based in Hongkong messaged me if I could make it to his unit acceptance in Baguio. But since I needed to be there, then no doubt I just said yes and booked a plane ticket from Cebu to Manila, then booked a bus ticket in Victory Liner going to Baguio, when he confirmed the date of acceptance.
The plan was to stay at my friend's place so our plan to cook and eat will happen and we're so excited to do that. I've already set up my itinerary and planned to stay like a week in Baguio City to spend some time to my love "Baguio Nanays and Ates" and some friends I planned to meet as well for a small chitchats.
But then I was offered an unexpected paid job training which I cannot turn down because I wanted to be back in my Virtual Assistance job again and this is what I've been preparing from a couple of months.
I've made some changes in my itinerary and decided to book a hotel with a fast internet so I can still work while I am away from home, but based on my past experiences on staying at hotels, fast internet is too impossible except on high end ones like in Manors Hotel in Camp John Hay or in Baguio Country Club.
To book in an expensive hotel for me for a 3 nights stay is impractical on my end so I've decided to look for Transient Condominiums in Baguio that has fast internet and offers an affordable rate. So, I made a tons of research, read each reviews of Baguio Transient Condominiums that offers wifi as one of their amenities and has a review about the internet speed. Then I found a unit that perfectly matches my preference!
I'd like to give a feedback as per the following:
1 as the lowest; 5 as the highest
THE LOCATION/ATTRACTIONS: 5/5
The condo is located in the heart of the city. YES! It is located in the city center. Name of the building is Cedar Peak Condominium. It's a brand new residential-commercial building. It has a mall in it and Savemore supermarket is in there too. If you prefer going to the public market, it's just a few steps to get there. Banking institutions, restaurants, Universities, Public Market, Malls and Bus stations are just there, no need to spend much for transportation as everything is walking distance. It's walking distance to Burnham Park and Baguio Night market as well.
What amazed me too, they provided the following as well:
Knowing Baguio's cold weather but still they provided AC and Fan inside, so up to us guests which we prefer to use. So, I'd recommend this place especially to those who travel and take their work with them. Freelancers, Upworkers or those who are into business trips that needs fast internet in their Baguio short stay, THIS IS IT! Wifi internet speed was extremely satisfactory.
This is my workstation during my shortstay in Baguio.
QUALITY OF NIGHT'S SLEEP: 5/5

McDonald’s sells a lot of food. Like, a lot of food. We’re talking enough food to serve more than 70 million people every day, with more than 75 burgers sold every second.
That shouldn’t be too surprising, considering McDonald’s is one of the largest fast-food chains in the world. But their menu actually isn’t what generates the company’s multi-billion dollar profits. The real best-seller? Real estate.
LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION.
There are more than 36,000 McDonald’s locations worldwide, but only about 5 percent of them are company-owned. The rest are franchised out, meaning they’re run by individuals who McDonald’s has contracted to operate them. In those situations, the company only spends money on the real estate of that location. The franchisee is responsible for all the costs of running the restaurant while also paying McDonald’s for rent (which adds up to an average of 10.7 percent of their sales), a $45,000 franchisee fee, and a monthly service fee equal to 4 percent of gross sales, Business Insider reports. With multiple means of collecting revenue at relatively minimal costs, it’s no wonder McDonald’s relies so heavily on franchises.
“We are not basically in the food business,” former McDonald’s CFO Harry J. Sonneborn reportedly told investors. “We are in the real estate business. The only reason we sell 15 cent hamburgers is because they are the greatest producer of revenue from which our tenants can pay us rent.”
Being able to hand off the costs of running the restaurants is a primary key to McDonald’s success. According to Wall Street Survivor, in 2014, the company made $27.4 billion in revenue, with $9.2 billion coming from franchised locations and $18.2 from company-owned locations. But after you factor in the total costs of running those locations, McDonald’s kept only 16 percent of the revenue from locations it owned directly compared to the 82 percent of the franchise-generated revenue. Here are 17 more things McDonald’s employees won’t tell you.
So while you may spend money at McDonald’s on a Big Mac and fries, McDonald’s is spending money on prime real estate—and they’re lovin’ it. Next, check out 12 of the coolest McDonald’s locations around the world.

Based on my observation, Lots of people doesn't prefer this duplex type or townhomes but because these priced cheaper than single detached ones then they'll buy this. Also, they prefer this than that of purchasing a condominium. In Twinhomes or townhouses you can own a Lot, while in a condominium you just owned a space.
One of the best advantage in purchasing this house type is that, this will be considered as one of best investment property. A house or a property is a liability if you're living in it, but if you're renting it out it's an asset. If it makes you money, then it's an asset. Purchasing this type of property is a win win because, you've already secured your residence at the same time you have a rental property on the side that will serve as your milking cow and of course will help you pay your monthly amortization. You don’t have to travel far, as you can do inspection or manage the property anytime you want as you are just residing on the other side. If there are problems, it'll be too easy for you to attend to your tenants concern.
Now, if you can't afford as well to purchase a Fully completed duplex type of property or a townhouse, then a lot only can do and build your own duplex or a townhome.
Consider this Twinhomes For Sale in New Binan Laguna, this is a duplex type property for sale in Jubilation Enclave, New Binan. It is strategically located in the landmark of elegant living in Binan, status symbol, last of its kind, At the cross road of 3 big road networks (SLEX, Old National Highway and CALAX),Just a few kilometers ride to Nearby private schools, nearby hospitals, Lifestyle and Destinations in Binan Laguna.
If looking for Duplex Houses and Lot For Sale in Baguio Near SLU Maryheights in Bakakeng and soon to rise FEU in Baguio, then this Duplex property is the best residential investment property you'll have in Baguio city.
WHAT DO YOU THINK TOO, IS IT FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE TO PURCHASE A DUPLEX / TOWNHOUSES? Comment below and let me know your thoughts!
To be honest with you guys, before I engaged into this business, I don’t have any interest in this industry, as in 0% interest. But how did it started?
Way back 2010, right after I graduated my course AB Political Science, I don’t have any idea what to do. I could still remember up to now the pressure. I was the eldest in the family. I came from a broken family and I felt like I must be responsible enough to help mom to suffice our needs. But HOW? I don’t feel like going back to my previous job while I was studying, as an ESL Tutor.
I don’t have plans. I don’t know what I wanted to do. One thing I was very sure of that time, I don’t feel like working outside my comfort zone. I don’t feel like leaving my siblings alone at home. I don’t feel like getting up early in the morning, rush to the busy street so I won’t be late at work. I can’t imagine myself doing that routine everyday.
I was not employed for 1 year and 6 mos. Until, I've decided to go online. I want to work at home, I’m very sure of that. That journey wasn't easy. There are lots of job offers online and I don’t even know which one was legit. So, I tried networking. Worked with a team, worked on to some paying Paid to Click jobs as that was the trend before. I was actually earning that time by just doing that, but it’s not helping mom for the bills. So when I found about oDesk (which is now Upwork), it interests me. HOW? What work should I apply? I don’t even have a job experience?
Yes, that was hard as well but I made it. I have no marketing or any business experience. But, I was hired as a data entry specialist, an article writer, a website promoter and an ad poster. Then when a Virtual assistant job was a hit, I did a self-study. Did a lot of research and read some articles online about it just for me to relate what was it. Tried applying some Virtual assistant jobs and get the chance to join some free virtual trainings with no fee. Until, I finally got a Real Estate virtual assistant job in 2011. Worked part time to some US Real estate Investors and worked Full time to a Real estate brokerage in Canada.
I loved my job. I've realized that it’s very important to love your job, than force to work a job you don’t love. In this way, you won’t feel tired. You just feel like working 24/7 without any stress feelings to help the company and the people you are working with. I was just so grateful to be part of a real estate brokerage company in Canada. This is where and when my interest in the real estate industry has started.
They have trained me well. I've learned that, in the business, CUSTOMER SERVICE is very important. You have to be prompt too and attentive to some tasks given to you. I've learned as well, that distance is never a barrier when working with a team far from you in achieving a common goal for the company. It’s very fulfilling and overwhelming, to get a feedback from clients who loved and appreciate your service. It’s flattering to receive an emails or calls from those clients you've assisted as they wanted to meet you, to thank you personally. We’re very happy to know that they’re satisfied with the help of everyone in the company. My employer has raised my fee, they gave me incentives. I've earned a lot and that I shouldered family’s needs. I was compensated well. It gave me the chance to travel outside my hometown and meet new people not just online. Baguio, was my dream destination since I was in college and that was a dream come true when I got to the place last 2012.
Prior with my Baguio trip, I was invited to join an orientation for estate agents in Cebu. I've accepted the invitation. Why not? If I made it to US or Canada, why not in my hometown? So I've joined in but didn't took it seriously.
Until I traveled in Baguio. I've stayed there for a week. Transient house owner asked me what I do for a living, so I answered her questions. Until I've got an offer from her the night I’m about to leave Baguio, to sell her daughter’s house. I haven’t seen that house. But told her, let’s see what I can to do to help you dispose it.
Then time comes, when the company I've worked in has to end my contract. While looking for other job offers, I tried selling the house in Baguio. But before that, I did a lot of questions of course to the house owner, pictures for my marketing and location of it. I then applied what I've learned from my previous job experiences and it went well. I found it fun to do, happy to talk and serve to people who are living in the same country as me looking for their dream home. I am very happy to serve them what they are looking for but I only have one property to offer.
I've seen the demand of people looking for properties in Baguio. I don’t want to waste the leads I have gathered. I don’t want to waste the opportunity too to some agents / house owners looking to sell their Baguio city properties. That was the time I took real estate seriously.
In my real estate online marketing, VP Marketing of Goshen Land Capital Inc., a real estate developer in Baguio City has found me via Linkedin. I could still remember how busy I was looking for some real estate brokers’ contact info and their websites, so I can send them proposals to work with them and will personally meet them in Baguio for that. But a notification has popped up, I got an offer in my email from that company who found me. I stopped what I did and without hesitation, I've accepted the offer. I was under the supervision of one of the area managers of GLCI, Froilan Calera from Team Integrity. Then that was the start of my real estate career. Until, I met new friends in Baguio. Stayed their long and when some of my friends passed the brokerage exam, I've joined their group and now, I’m part of the real estate brokerage company they've built, working as the Chief Marketing Officer of AMG Group Realty and Development Inc.
Above all, I could say, I got my dream online job - to work at home. I can work anytime I want and where I am at. It takes an awful desire, determination, persistence and perseverance to get it. The road may not be easy but with God's guidance, my clients' full trust and the right people I'm with, I'm still in this industry.
I was just a traveler way back year 2012. I've only heard Baguio's cold weather. The weather itself has excite me coz the hometown I'm residing is too hot that sometimes I got sick coz I can't anymore handle the heat. The people are very kind which is one of the best things I considered coming back in to this place. The place is safe as well.
I've appreciated a lot my very first experience of traveling Baguio. "Baguio Transient Houses" or "Baguio Transient condominiums" was new to me when I've search for condotels or hotels in Baguio, this is where I got curious what that "transient houses or transient condos means.
In my Baguio trip, I've tried staying in this transient house as it's cheaper than a hotel and to experience as well personally the difference of staying in a transient house and a hotel. Then my questions have been answered. In that one week stay, the transient house owner and I, have been talking about her transient business and offered me to sell one of her properties when she knew am a Cebu real estate agent. During our conversation, I have seen the potential of Baguio real estate market. I'm just new here but I've seen its charm that makes or demands my heart to come back.
When I went back to Cebu, my hometown, I've started searching Baguio house and lots, Baguio condominiums and Baguio city lots for sale. These interests me a lot that I kept on searching every detail of each property and its potentials as if like am stalking to a hot guy/girl.
When I've started posting the Baguio property for sale offered to me, a lot of investors are sending me messages of different parts of the world, wanting this "hot property" Baguio have. I got lots of leads in my lists lining up with their criteria but that time I only have one with me. So my interests in Baguio real estate has arise due to the demand of people coming over me. So from that time, I've been searching hot properties for my hot buyers and until now, I've been serving my clients with Baguio hot real estate deals that fits their preferences. Baguio is hot to investors as Baguio has a great potential of a secured return of investments where investors' money will surely not be wasted.
Kamote Balls (Sweet Potato Balls)
Kamote tops, or Kamote leaves / Sweet Potato leaves is one of our most favorite. We usually mix this vege to our #Dinengdeng / Bulanglang or Utan for us Cebuanos. We like it more too in Kamote leaves salad mixed with fresh tomatoes, onions, calamansi and salt. <3
For the water we used to boil on that Kamote leaves, we prefer to boil it than steam becoz we'd like to keep the Kamote leaves juice and mixed it with calamansi and honey. It Can be served hot or cold.
So, since we're obviously very fond of Kamote, then I did an experiment to it and made our new favorite snack, Kamote nuggets. So I'd like to share it, hope you'll like it. Please check the ingredients and procedure below..
4 pcs medium sized Kamote (Sweet potato)
Leftover Crispy fry (garlic flavor)
Scallion / Spring Onion
Pepper and Salt to taste
Chili powder (optional)
NOTE: I didn't put any measurements in this, tantya lang po lahat.
Crushed skyflakes / Breadcrumbs
1.) Boil the sweet potato like 15 minutes or until soft.
2.) Prepare the chopped garlic to small pieces as well as the onions, spring onions
3.)Mashed the sweet potatoes, then add the egg yolk, chopped garlic, onions and spring onions, then pepper and salt to season and add the leftover crispy fry garlic at least 1 tsp for flavoring, mix it until the texture becomes thick and enough for the flavor to spread.
4.) Once done, Simply Form balls depends on your preferred size.
1.) Batter the egg white, then season it with salt and pepper.
2.) Prepare the breadcrumbs.
1.) Prepare the pan, heat it then add oil. Once the oil is hot then ready frying!
Let's start frying!
Coat the sweet potato balls with egg white, then breadcrumbs, then egg white and fry. I used sky flakes in that as we don't have breadcrumbs available then put it in the battered egg before putting it into the pan. Once done, Sprinkle it with Chili powder if you like it spicy. <3
Enjoy your snack!
